After Schools

St. MacNissi’s Parents Association provides an ‘After School Club’ service for parents of children in primary 1, 2 and 3.

Our current staff are Pam, Maggie - two very popular ladies with the children! Pam and Maggie have run the After School Club for the Parent's Association since its beginning and are a valuable asset to the club. Both members of staff have completed necessary 'Child Protection' training and run the club with the correct level of discipline coupled with an enormous sense of fun! On occasion when the club is busy we have other members of staff we can call on, Michelle and Christina - they work at the school and know the children well. Ratio children to adults 1 adult/8 children.

Children are collected from the school premises at 2.00 pm and they are brought to the After School Club premises - situated in St. MacNissis' Church.

Parents should note that the 'After School Club' is not a homework club - the children get to leave their school day behind and 'let off some steam' before mum and/or dad come to collect them!

The After School Club closes at 3.00pm every day and the children should be collected no later than 3.15pm, thereby allowing you a greater degree of flexibility with your time.

The cost per child each day for the After School Club is £2.00 (3.00 for two children). A receipt will be provided.

The contact telephone number for the club is Belfast 90 832381. We ask that if you are delayed in collecting your child, e.g. due to traffic disruption, please contact 'After School Club' staff to advise them of your expected time of arrival.

Should a parent be consistently late, the Parents Committee must reserve the right to charge a late fee. This additional fee is to cover staff costs - staff will remain with your child until you arrive.

There is an insurance payment of £10.00 due for each child who attends the club. This must be paid in full no later than the first Monday in December. This insurance premium is there to protect your child and is critical to the success of the club.

The 'After School Club' allows a greater degree of flexibility for us, the parents, in allowing us an extra hour before having to collect our children. The club is there for your benefit and can only remain in existence if the parents use it.

Please ask for and complete a registration form - even if it is you intention of using the 'After School Club' later, e.g. when primary 1 stay until 2.00pm. This way we will be able to ensure that we hold a place for you and have the club staffed adequately.
